India is the 4th largest economy in the world, and has the 2nd highest GDP among the developing countries based on purchasing power parity. The Indian real estate sector plays a significant role in the country's economy and contributes heavily towards the gross domestic product (GDP). The Indian real estate market size is expected to touch $ 180 billion by 2020. The housing sector alone contributes to 5-6% of the country's GDP. Retail, hospitality and commercial real estate are also growing significantly, providing the much needed infrastructure for India's growing needs. Housing sector constitute 80% of real estate in terms of value and 20% by commercial sector.
